The 2nd Annual Braxton County Fall Farm Crawl is back! Spend the day exploring farms, meeting local producers, and enjoying hands-on activities across Braxton County. This free, family-friendly event is a self-guided tour — visit participating farms on-site or stop by our central vendor hubs in Gassaway and Sutton.
What You’ll Experience:
Tours of local farms and homesteads
Live demonstrations like sheep shearing, soap making, and apple butter cooking
Hands-on activities for kids and adults
Animals to meet and feed
Shopping for local meats, baked goods, soaps, flowers, crafts, and more
On-Farm Stops
In the Nook Farm (Burnsville) – Hydrosols, teas, herbs, and crafts. Activity: Make your own herb wreath or bouquet.
Friend-Sheep Suffolks & Club Lambs (Exchange) – Lamb products. Activity: Sheep shearing demonstration & felted soap making.
Mountain Girl Acres / Molly Goat Soap (Flatwoods) – Goat soaps, dairy goats, and beef cattle. Activity: Pet and feed the goats.
Heavner Family Farm (Burnsville) – U-pick flower farm, barn quilts, and garden crafts. Activity: Sunflower wall hanging or mini barn quilt craft.
Frametown VFD & Frametown Trailblazers 4-H (Frametown) – Apple butter making demonstration.
Ellen’s Pigs (Flatwoods) – Educational pig farm tours and presentations.
Central Vendor Market
Vendors will be set up at Trailhead Farm Meats & More in Gassaway and at the Sutton Farmers Market as part of the Sutton Fall Festival.
Vendors include:
EarthStone Hollow Dairy – Goat milk soaps, lotions, lip balms, and jewelry.
Heavenly Manna Baking – Fresh baked goods, jams, and talks on canning, baking, and homesteading.
Mystic Hollow Goat Milk Soap Co. – Handmade goat milk soaps with demonstrations.
Soaps, Crafts, and More (Elisha George) – Locally made soaps and crafts.
Maranda Rose – Artisan cold process soaps.
