Meet the CVB Board

Ron Cvetican – Ron moved to Braxton County in 2015 to take over ownership and operation of the Sutton Lake Marina. Before moving to Braxton County, Ron owned restaurants and cabins in other areas of West Virginia. Though Ron and his wife sold the Sutton Lake Marina in 2022, his experience there and in his past endeavors reflect a high level of tourism knowledge that enriches the Braxton County CVB.

Thomas “Joe” Gates – Thomas, or as his friends call him, Joe, is a life-long resident of Braxton County. He has been involved in planning and executing several events in the town of Sutton. Joe is also highly active in the non-profit group, Elk River Action. However, Joe is best known for owning and operating the gaming store, Cardboard Coliseum, located in Downtown Sutton.

Kristin Smith – Kristin Smith is an owner and operator of the Burnsville Lake Marina. She, along with her husband and staff, have run the marina since Spring of 2021. The marina offers anything boaters could need for their day on Burnsville Lake and hosts several fishing tournaments throughout the year. Kristin is involved in every aspect of the Burnsville Marina’s operations.

Erica Whitney – Erica is a life-long resident of Braxton County. Erica is the manager of the Sutton Lake Marina, where she and her staff deal with tourism to Braxton County on a daily basis. Erica is also an accountant for the Braxton County Board of Education. Erica also worked for the West Virginia Department of Tourism for over a year, creating numerous valuable connections for Braxton County.
