Route 19 sighting

It was late early morning, we were on route 19 north of Summersville WV. Weather was clear and cool. Time of year fall. A friend and I were coming back from NC. I was driving, I drove past something standing on the side of the road. My friend and I both at the same time said what was that?
It was a large figure standing there.
It was tall enough that we both noticed it. This is purely a guess but it looked to be 7’- 8’ tall. We decided I should turn around and go back, which we did. We did not see anything after turning around. We also for obvious reasons did not stop and get out. One thing I do know it was not a deer, bear, or anything I’d ever seen before!! It was too big!!
